Within the lines of Vogue’s embrace,

Lies a narrative, an ugly chase.

Perfection sought in every pore,

Yet scars of truth, society ignores.

For beauty’s quest, a heavy toll,

As standards rise, devouring her soul.

Her worth defined by fleeting gaze,

Yet, deeper truths elude the craze.

In glossy ads and runways bright,

They sell a dream, a scripted light.

Yet, truth be told, the saddest scene,

A toll on hearts, unseen, unseen.

Perfected bodies on display,

An image etched in minds each day.

For every curve that doesn’t fit,

A pang of doubt, a painful split.

In lace and silk, they sell a dream,

Branded beauty, so it seems.

Yet, behind the glamour’s shimmering light,

Lies a truth casting shadows on the night.

Through diets strict, and judgments harsh,

They mold their bodies, leaving a mark.

Yet, in the mirror’s unkind gaze,

The toll on souls, like subtle haze.

In search of worth in alluring guise,

They sculpt desires with painful tries.

The quest for “sexy,” a heavy toll,

As self-esteem takes a trembling stroll.

In branded bras and runway walks,

The mirror echoes inner talks.

Unwanted echoes, cruel and loud,

As standards rise, like an oppressive sound.

The runway paved with beauty’s strain,

Yet, real women bear the weight in pain.

Comparison’s sting, a bitter taste,

As self-worth wanes, a silent waste.

For want of feeling wanted, desired,

They walk on paths, oft uninspired.

Yet, let compassion be our guide,

To mend the wounds, where pain resides.

Embroidered wings, a fragile guise,

Whispering tales of self-disguise.

Magazines adorned with perfect grace,

Convey a message hard to erase.

In high-heeled steps and painted hues,

They chase a yearning that won’t diffuse.

Sacrificing comfort, trading pain,

In hopes that love they’ll somehow gain.

The mirror whispers silent lies,

As women question worth in size.

Unwanted, ugly, the echoes ring,

In branded shadows, self-esteem takes wing.

Her visage, framed in borrowed grace,

Conceals the struggles she must face.

A captive to society’s decree,

Her essence lost, but none can see.
