Something about me:
Hi, I’m Marilie Willemse, but you can call me Merrily! I’m a writer, a dreamer, and a firm believer in the power of words. The Merrily Corner is my little space to explore creativity, emotion, and the beauty of storytelling—whether through poetry, personal reflections, or thought-provoking pieces.
I’m originally from South Africa, and writing has been a part of my life since 2018. It started as a way to express my thoughts and emotions, but it wasn’t until July 13, 2023, that I took the leap and published my first work. Since then, writing has become more than just a passion—it’s my way of making sense of the world. My poetry collection, set to be released on December 20, 2024, is a deeply personal journey of healing, love, and self-discovery. With each poem, I hope to connect with readers who find solace in words, just as I do.
Beyond writing, I’m always eager to learn, whether it’s through books, new experiences, or meaningful conversations. I also share my life with my Mini Schnauzer, who’s quickly become my best little companion.
